gives the go ahead to purchase new pumper for fire department | |

The fire has made its last payment on its 2002 pumper and, following approval of the city council Monday night, will advertise for a new pumper to replace the ailing 1970 model in its arsenal of fire trucks. Fire chief Rick Clercx was on hand Monday night, as well as members of the fire department who have been checking into various manufactures. He asked for the go ahead to call for sealed bids for the purchase of a new 2,000 gallon fire tanker. Bids will be taken until 2:00 p.m. on August 23.
