The city of Avoca estimates that the project will cost about $6,000. . . . .
Many people who drive by city hall in Avoca will notice a construction site next to a couple big mounds of dirt. That site is the future home of the Avoca Veteranís Memorial. Avoca is one of the few cities around that do not have a veteranís memorial dedicated to the area residents who have served this nation. The city of Avoca estimates that the project will cost about $6,000 for materials, tree removal, and professional labor and is looking for more donations to complete the project. The current donations stand at a little over $4,000 and if you wish to donate to help complete the project, you can contact Avocaís City Clerk, Karen Frisk at 507-335-7878.
