Things are gearing up for the threshing event at the Ernie Engelkes farm near Slayton. | August 19th |

This past Friday night at the farm of Ernie Engelkes outside of Slayton the sweet smell of fresh oats being cut was in the air. Local famers got together to bundle oats in preparation of a threshing event that will take place during the Murray County Fair on Sunday, August 19th.
As the tractors and bundling machines took off, more and more people stopped by to help "shock" - many bringing their grandkids to show them how harvesting used to be done before the time of the big machines of today.
