To collect data recommendations for city street and utility improvements
A two year contract with Schaap Sanitation for removal of trash in the city of Slayton was approved at Monday's city council meeting. The rate, which is the same as last year, city clerk Cathy Magnus reported, will be locked in for a two year period.   Total monthly cost of sanitation will be $438.77.

The council approved a recommendation from the Economic Development Authority to appoint Dr. Gary Plotz to the commission.  Plotz will replace former member Kent Johansen.

A list of equipment owned by the city was declared as surplus and will be sold or discarded.  The list includes a 1994 Oldsmobile 98 four door sedan, a 2002 Chevy Impala four door sedan (former squad car), a 1992 Ford pickup truck, a 2004 Chevrolet pickup roll cover, a diaphragm pump, a portable air compressor and a Canon NP2120 copier.
