City looks at ways to provide accurate census count; hear recommended lighting improvements
The State census motto, "Every 1 Counts In Minnesota", shows the importance of achieving an accurate count in next year's annual census and the Slayton City Council Monday night discussed ways in which the city can help to insure this while approving of the formation of a "Complete County Committee" to address, identify and address certain issues. 

"It is really important that we get everybody counted in town," city clerk Cathy Magnus stressed.  Because official numbers affect the city's state aid funding, she said, everyone must be counted.  "And if somebody is not a U.S. citizen they need to be counted," Magnus added.
