The Murray County Central (MCC) Rebels 2009 season came to an end Friday night in Marshall. The Rebels took on the Adrian Dragons for the second time this season. For the second time this season the Rebels were unable to score against the Dragons defense. The Rebels gave up too many important penalties and key pass plays to gain a victory. In what was a great bounce back season for the Rebels, it came to an end because of mistakes that have plagued them all season long with the lack of any kind of passing game. When in a playoff game, the mistakes a team commits often lead to losses and for the Rebels that is exactly what happened.
The Adrian Dragons really dominated the first half of the game but because of turnovers the yardage put up by the Dragons didn't always lead to scores. The Dragons also had a couple key turnovers that ended one scoring drive. A special teams fumble cost them great field position.
