1958 – Deborah Joy Pedersen – 2019
Deborah Pedersen was born on March 21, 1958, in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Rev. Henry and Frances Larson Pedersen. Deborah moved often with her parents while her father followed his calling as a Chaplain with stops in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, California, Midway Island, Pennsylvania, Michigan, Wisconsin, Kentucky and finally home to Minnesota. She loved working with staff and her peers at the DAC in Slayton, Minnesota. In September 2019 Deborah moved to Prairie View in Slayton where she passed away on Tuesday, December 24, 2019, at the age of 61. Deborah attended Lake Sarah Baptist Church in rural Slayton. She enjoyed traveling with her parents, Mickey Mouse, music, relaxing at the cabin, and giving hugs.
Survivors include her mother Frances Pedersen, Slayton, MN; four siblings and their spouses: Kris and Chris Adkins, Ashland, KY, Rev. Anders, and Heidi Pedersen, Stafford, VA, Nancy, and Giovanni Ramirez, Canon City, CO, and Carl and Amy Pedersen, Laporte, MN, and several nieces and nephews and their families. She was preceded in death by her father Rev. Henry Pedersen.
Memorial services are being planned for later this summer. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff that provided such great comfort and care at the SLS house and Prairie View Home in Slayton. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Lake Sarah Baptist Church or a favorite charity.
