If you are a pet parent and have had the need to leave your pet in someone else’s care for a period of time, chances are that you entrusted Saalo Farms Pampered Pet Boarding, Avoca,  to do so. Jeri and Skip Brown have offered loving, compassionate care for dogs and cats for the past several years, growing a clientele who have come to rely on their services.

The Brown’s have made a decision to move to Lexington, Kentucky.  They have sold Saalo Farms Pampered Pet Boarding to Chandra and Dillon Carlson.

The Carlson’s have named the pet resort Carlson Acres Pampered Pet Resort.

Their decision to purchase the pet boarding business is based on Chandra’s love of animals. “I’ve always loved pets and animals. I was always bringing home animals that needed care,” Chandra stated. “I think I came by it naturally. One time Dad brought home an orphaned squirrel and we took care of it.”

Chandra shared that she had considered opening a dog boarding business. With the Brown’s being close neighbors, she decided against the venture. She has been working for a residential solar panel business out of Idaho and was required to travel to Idaho once every five weeks.

“We’ve known Chandra and Dillon for a long time,” Jeri Brown said. “They’ve boarded their dogs here and I knew how much their pets mean to them.”

When the Brown’s decided to sell Saalo Farms Pampered Pet Boarding, Chandra and Dillon decided it was perfect timing for them to make the purchase.  This new venture for the Carlson family will allow them to continue to live in their home and will also allow Chandra to work on a full-time basis with Carlson Acres Pampered Pet Resort.
