On December 5 there was a celebration for the four children who signed up and read 1,000 books before kindergarten. Keegan Aamodt, Atticus Harms, Philippa Harms & Zuri Jahnagile along with their families celebrated with a story, craft, pizza and prizes. 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten is a program endorsed by the United Way and partially funded by the Slayton Friends of the Library.
