Sunny skies and a slight breeze made for a perfect day on the course. MCC was eager to get their meet against HLO in after missing practice earlier in the week due to snow. The Rebel golfers shot some of their best rounds so far this season. The boys carded a 180 to HLO’s 232, and the girls had a 210 compared to HLO’s 222.
On the boys side, two MCC golfers took medalist honors. In first place was Tyler Groves who shot a 38. Despite a couple of amiss tee shots, Groves played a great game of par golf. The second place individual medal went to Jack Pierson who shot a 39. Pierson had a great day from the tee box as well as chipping onto the green. Shooting his best round of the season, Cole Ahlers came in with a 42 for MCC’s 3rd score. Rounding off MCC’s team total was Dawson Tutt with a 61.
The girls had one stand out golfer for the day, Abby Hamman. Hamman shot a 45, earning the 1st place individual medal. 2nd place went to HLO’s Lexy Ruesch, who shot a 51. Falling just short of an individual medal was Amber Boock who shot a 52, and Paige Behrends who carded a 53. Finishing up the Rebel’s team score was Vanessa Dahlgren with a 60.
