BISMARCK, ND—Heidi Bau of Slayton, MN, who’s majoring in biology with minors in chemistry and music, was recognized today with the University of Mary Alumni Association’s Outstanding Senior Award for 2018 at the university’s annual President’s Recognition Luncheon Saturday, April 27, 2019.
In addition to her great leadership skills, Bau has done innumerable service projects both here on campus and within the greater community. Her years of hard work, dedication to the mission of the school, her selfless attitude and volunteering spirit have led to much success and self-giving to the community. Heidi has a goal of becoming a rural primary care practitioner and would also like to help provide Catholic medical education, preparing physicians to care for the whole person.
“Heidi has lived a life that truly exemplifies the principles of Catholic education,” said her nominating faculty member. “She has been inspired by the mission of the university to live a Christian life, often aligning well with the Benedictine values of hospitality, community, respect for persons, and prayer. Her years of hard work, dedication to the mission of the school, her selfless attitude and volunteering spirit have led to much success and self-giving to the community.”
