1957 – Barbara “Barb” Jean Weinrebe – 2019

Barb Weinrebe was born on March 17, 1957 in St. Paul, Minnesota to James and Dorothyann Munson Thompson.  She grew up in St. Paul and graduated from Harding High School in 1975.  On August 13, 1977 Barb and Arl Weinrebe were married in St. Paul.  Following their marriage they made their home in Charleston, South Carolina until 1980 when they moved to Worthington, Minnesota.  In 1982 they moved to Avoca, Minnesota.  Over the years Barb worked as a bookkeeper for Avoca Spray, David A. Swenson, Fulda Electric and Scotting Sanitation.  She then decided she was going into business for herself doing residential housekeeping.  Barb retired in March 2019.  Barb passed away on Tuesday, July 2, 2019 at the Murray County Medical Center in Slayton, Minnesota at the age of 62.  She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Avoca until it closed in 2018.  She then joined Christ Lutheran Church in Slayton.  Barb enjoyed being with her family, camping, reading, biking, quilting, walking and being on Pinterest.

Survivors include her husband Arl Weinrebe, Avoca, MN; two children and their spouses: Chris and Melissa Weinrebe, Phoenix, AZ and Desirae and Alex Chalmers, Tracy, MN; three grandchildren: Nathan Weinrebe, Iain Chalmers and Sarina Chalmers; her mother Dorothyann Thompson, St. Paul, MN; three brothers: Ron Thompson, St. Paul, MN, Bob Thompson and his wife Dawn, Holyoke, MN, and Mike Thompson, St. Paul, MN.  She was preceded in death by her father James Thompson and one brother Cliffy Thompson.

Memorial services were held at Christ Lutheran Church in Slayton, MN on Tuesday, July 9, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Dale Degner officiating.  The organist was Nancy Lee Pierson.  The honorary pallbearers were her grandchildren.  Interment is at Faith Lutheran Cemetery in Avoca, MN.
