Amber and Allyn Boutique, based in Sioux Falls, will be one of the vendors that will be at Saturday’s Holiday Craft Bazaar.
The event is being held in the gymnasium of Fulda High School. Hours for the Holiday Bazaar are 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. This is the 44th year of Fulda’s Holiday Craft Bazaar.
Amber and Allyn Boutique was recently started by Jackie (Engen) Johnson, Sioux Falls, SD, and her ten-year-old daughter, Cora. “My daughter, Cora, is 10. We used to have a boutique in downtown Sioux Falls from 2010 to 2011. Cora was three and her brother, Maddox, was one,” Johnson said. “With two little kids and knowing that we wanted to grow our family, it was difficult to be in a retail location six days per week.”
Johnson went on to say that Cora has always been crafty and entrepreneurial. She has had many, many lemonade stands throughout her ten years. “Cora and I started talking and dreaming about starting another boutique together, but we never had the time to get it going,” Johnson shared. “This time, we knew we did not want a retail location, but we also knew that being completely online wasn’t our style either. We both love talking to people and enjoy helping them find clothes that they feel good in.”
In September of this year, Jackie and Cora made time to get their boutique started and they ordered their first clothing, created their branding and launched their website. “We have been busy doing vendor events and home parties ever since. It’s really taken off!” Johnson exclaimed.
