Alaina Bigler, rural Lake Wilson, was stunning as she stepped onto the stage at Augustana University this past Saturday. Biegler was part of the South Dakota Miss Amazing. She is the daughter of Bryan and Lauren Biegler.
The annual event was started in April of 2015 which helps to provide opportunities for girls and women with disabilities. Every girl at the Miss Amazing pageant receives a crown because every girl to an extent in her own way is Miss Amazing just by participating in the event and pushing their limits.
The Biegler family learned of this opportunity via a student volunteer coordinator Emily at Augustana. She had a brother with Downs syndrome and emailed several families in southwest Minnesota regarding the program. Emily is a Leota resident when not attending college.
