Joseph “Bud” Lentz – Obituary

1951 – Joseph “Bud” Nicholas Lentz – 2018

Joe Lentz was born on June 17, 1929 in Slayton, Minneosta.  On March 30, 1951 Joe enlisted in the United States Army and served during the Korean War.  Following his honorable discharge on March 18, 1953 he returned to Slayton.  On September 10, 1953 he and Marian Hindt were married at the Iona Presbyterian Church in Iona, MN.  They made their home in Slayton and raised their two sons. Joe worked at Wright Tree Service and was a lead mechanic at Chrysler in Slayton.  In 1973 he started working for Muecke’s Sand and Gravel Joe remained there for almost 40 years.  Joe was easily recognized by his signature hat that he always wore.  Joe passed away at the VA Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD on Saturday, December 22, 2018 at the age of 89. Joe was a member of Iona Presbyterian Church serving many years as lead usher and always looked forward to helping out at the annual pancake supper.  Joe hobbies included small engine repair, gardening, camping, spending time with his family and watching a good John Wayne movie.

Survivors include his wife, Marian Lentz of Slayton, MN, two sons, Roy Lentz of Slayton, MN, and Allen and Coni Lentz of Mantorville, MN, two grandchildren, Courtney Lentz of Kasson, MN and Zacharey Lentz of Denver, CO and several other family memeber.
