1943 – Janet Engler – 2018
Janet Engler was born on August 15, 1943, in Tracy, Minnesota to Roy and Hazel (Wendorf) Hanson. She grew up in Tracy and attended Tracy schools. Janet was united in marriage to Leslie George Engler on February 2, 1959. After marriage, they were blessed with five children. Janet and Leslie raised their five children while she was a housewife and maintained various part-time jobs. Janet enjoyed spending time with her family, camping, playing Bingo and watching WWE wrestling. She also loved to participate in daily scratch-offs. Janet passed away on July 10, 2018 at the Sanford Heart Hospital in Sioux Falls, South Dakota at the age of 75.
Janet is survived by her husband Leslie Engler; four children: Michael (Shellie) Engler, Catherine (Myron) Vonk, Leslie (Barb) Engler Jr., and Amy (friend Bobby Thompson) Gertsema; 17 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents Roy and Hazel Hanson; three siblings: Robert, Gary and Ricki Hanson; son Douglas Engler; her in-laws Lester and Otilla Engler; and other relatives and friends.
A celebration of life service was held on Sunday, July 15, 2018.
