It’s back to school time and students will notice a new face greeting them as they come through the doors of the high school at Murray County Central this year.
Secondary Principal Jacob Scandrett is new on the block and looking forward to meeting all of the school’s students as soon as classes resume in September.
I feel like I’ve come home, he says, of making the move to Slayton and the M.C.C. district. Although his home while growing up took him to numerous parts of the country, his first teaching position was at the Tracy schools where was he serve as a biology teacher for several years.
It was during his tenure at the Tracy school district when he began to contemplate administrative aspirations. Scandrett then went on to hold positions as assistant elementary principal and assistant middle school principal in the Moorhead school district. Being in such a large school setting, Scandrett found that he truly wanted to be a part of a more intimate setting at a smaller school.
