1948 – Kenneth Arthur Burley – 2017

Ken Burley was born on January 6, 1948 in Long Beach, California to Kenneth and Helen Natter Burley. The family later moved to Downey, California for a short time before moving to Norwalk, California. They eventually settled in Seattle, Washinton where Ken graduated from Ingraham High School. Ken enlisted in the United States Army on June 25, 1965 and served in Vietnam. Following his honorable discharge on June 30, 1966 Ken was a deep sea captain owning his own boat and doing commercial fishing from Washington to Alaska. On November 26, 1969 he and Susan Knierim were married in Seattle. Ken also was a welder at Todd’s Ship Yard in Seattle. He and Sue later divorced. Prior to moving to Slayton, Minnesota he owned and operated two trucking companies, Big B Transportation LLC and Capitol B & B Trucking LLC. Ken passed away at his home in Hadley, Minnesota on Thursday, June 15, 2017 at the age of 69. Ken was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping.

Survivors include his daughter Helen Burley, Hadley, MN; two granddaughters: Madisen Burley, and Katelyn Lorenzen and his companion and best friend of five years, his dog Quinn. He was preceded in death by his parents. To send condolences visit totzkefuneralhome.com No services are being planned.
