Ghost Dance held near Chandler

Starting last Thursday evening, people from across the nation made their way to Leon Carney’s farm, Northwest of Chandler, for the second annual ghost dance.

Leading up to Saturday’s ghost dance ceremony, travellers were invited to ready their camps, meditate, and enjoy the splendor of the natural Minnesota prairie.  Guest were also treated to the stylings of Slayton band, MapleStreet, on the Friday before the main event.

The ghost dance is organized by Wind over Fire Healing Arts Center in Rochester, MN.  A ghost dance is a native American ceremony to encourage the healing of Earth.  Leon Carney demonstrated a traditional ghost dance ceremony for those in attendance.
