McNab receives Navy scholarship up to $180,000

Chief Dennis Anders, representing the United State Navy, was on hand last Wednesday afternoon to present Matt MaNab, senior at Murray County Central, with a check for $180,000. McNab, son of Mike and Connie, recently was chosen to receive this scholarship as a result of completing paperwork citing his community involvement, activities, and academics. Annually the Navy awards four-year Navel Officer Reserve Training scholarships to superbly qualified high school students throughout the country. The scholarship recipients are chosen through a highly competitive selection process. Tuition and other financial benefits are paid as a result of the scholarship and can be worth as much as $180,000. The NOROTC program provides not only college education but also is purposely designed to train the recipient as a commissioned officer in the United State Navy.
