The programs and services offered through A.C.E. are founded on Advocating, Connecting, and Educating the citizens of southwest Minnesota. Their resources and support help to enable adults to live safely and independently for a longer period of time. They also help meeting community needs by matching volunteers age 55 and older with activities that fit their interest, schedules, and experience. The program, formerly known as RSVP, looks to engage communities by educating, connecting and advocating with an emphasis on volunteerism and independent living.
A.C.E. serves the Minnesota counties of Cottonwood, Lincoln, Lyon, Murray, Nobles, Redwood, and Rock. Programs include telephone reassurance, one-to-one peer counseling, Bone Builders, evidence based health promotion programs, Alzheimer’s disease and/or Dementia services and support along with a variety of services for caregivers.
Michelle Steffl has been serving in the capacity of Murray County Coordinator since this past September. As of April 3rd she will be handing those reins to Joyce Wiekeraad. Steffl will still be serving Murray County, however, will transition to working with Alzheimer’s and dementia services and support.
