The “Young American Creative Patriotic Art Contest” is sponsored each year by the local V.F.W. Aux. 6322 for students in grades 9-12. It gives the students a chance to express their patriotism in the form of art. For Mr. Reker’s Art 1 Drawing class students were asked to create an art piece that depicted what they felt represented patriotism. This year there were 21 entrants from the MCC school.
The winners are as follows: First place Abigail Hamman, Second place Brianna Schmitz, Third place Trevor Ackerman. They each received a monetary award with the first place going on to the third district.
