2018 American Education Banquet

High School Principal addressed those on hand with the following remarks: The Education Banquet celebrates Academic achievements of our school community.  MCC’s test schools from MN’s comprehensive assessments, the district continues to score higher than the state average in all assessed areas of reading, math, and science. Comparing proficiency scores with schools in southwest Minnesota, MCC ranked second this year. The tradition of excellence at MCC  and as we look at the last three years, MCC was number 1 in southwest MN compared to area schools, two years ago we were 3rd, and this year 2nd. This is consistency. And it speaks volumes to the work of our students, staff, and parents at home providing the accountability that is so vital to student’s success. The work we do here at school with your children is only as effective as the support your child receives at home. Helping hold your child accountable for their homework and encouraging them to develop healthy lifestyle habits continues to send a consistent message between home and school. MCC had the distinct honor this year of being ranked 28th in the state out of 441. District proficiency scores continue to be above the 70% mark in reading and math. These are good numbers. I appreciate and commend the hard work that our students and staff do every day to ensure that our schools continue to improve and our students continue to achieve and learn. Everyone from our teachers, volunteers, parents, support staff, community members, students, and parents, deserve recognition for this accomplishment.

Congratulations and Thank you for the work you do on a daily basis to ensure every child is successful in school and life.
