One hundred sixth annual Murray County Fair is underway. The annual free fair has plenty to offer throughout the four-day affair.
Wednesday is the official start of the fair. The first livestock event is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. with the rabbit show in the Olsem Arena. At noon the commercial exhibit booths open and remain until 9:00 p.m. Also the museum buildings and log cabin open at noon. The goat show will take place 2:00 p.m. and the carnival rides open at 4:00. The 4-H fashion review will take place in Heritage Hall at 4:30 p.m. and the Bird of Flight – 101 will be presented by the Fish and Wildlife under the tent. . Also beginning at 5:00 p.m. will be Fun Food Challenge featuring cookies – open to everyone and will take place in the 4-H building. Throughout the evening kitchen fire demonstrations, center of fairgrounds, near bingo stand. At 6:00 p.m. Amateur radio demonstrations will be held near the blue commercial building from 6:00-7:00 p.m. At 7:00 p.m. the Great Plains tractor pull takes place at the grand stand. This 7:00 p.m. time frame also features the bean bag tournament in the beer garden as well as Bruce Dysthe. More kitchen fire demonstrations will also be held at 7:30 p.m.
